JULIE Robinson from Stokesley was in tremendous form at Richmond's senior show, where she won the 1m open with her 15-year-old advanced eventer Just Dominic.
The duo, also winners at Weston Park International last year, finished ahead of Angela Lowrie on Captain Nemo Fox and eventer David Herron with Touch of Frost.
Julie's second win came in the Horse and Hound Foxhunter with the 15-year-old Irish Skater, which competed in last year's Badminton and Burghley Horse Trials. Skater was also runner-up in the Members Cup, which was won by Robert Shields on Hamilton Poppet.
John Thornton, based at Leeming Bar, took the Newcomers with Abbey Jack, while Robert completed a double by winning the Hadrian Equine Discovery on Hassells Ever Ready, ahead of Mary Reveley's head lad Don Carcary with No Ifs or Buts and James Adams on the British Novice winner Ginger Connors, owned by Les Moorhouse from Stockton.
l Stainsby Grange hosted its senior championship show recently, with Emma Armstrong and the 12-year-old Lord Bertram taking the strongly contested Discovery ahead of Don Carcary.
They then took the Horse and Hound Foxhunter ahead of Irish Skater and Alison Cana on Westbourne Easy Does It. Emma was delighted to clinch the overall points title and receive the Power Pack Trophy, in memory of Joanne Tanfield's international mount.
Lord Bertram, given to owner Kay Clark after his retirement from racing by John Allen, won three prestigious horse trials last year at Floors Castle, Houghall and Gleneagles.
Runner-up in the points was Sarah Russell, from Thirsk, who just finished her junior career in December and had a great season with Toodjay, which took the open ahead of Elwick's Steven Wright on Dovecote Martine.
Steven also took the Newcomers with Educated Risk ahead of Karen Baker on Juste Mileu, while good wins were achieved by Julie Robinson and Just Dominic (Members Cup) and James Adams on Ginger Connors (British Novice).
The centre held successful Trailblazers second rounds, with tickets for the final at Stoneleigh going to juniors 75cm Pippa Allen (Just Pip) and Becky Todd (Topper); 85cm Kayley Bennison (Calypso) and Alice McCullogh (Penny); 95cm Rebecca Roberts (Kirley) and Ellie Taylor (Dusty Brown). The latter took the 1.05 ahead of Laura Haymer.
The horse 75cm went to eventer Ian Hammond (Widget) and Amy Wall (Solfice). Amy also had a ticket in the 85cm with Cleo, along with Christina Cordana (Stormy). The 95cm and 1.05cm tickets was a double for Jane Lishman (Bodge) and Zoe Davidson (Face the Music).
