CASTING a vote need not always be a chore - particularly for people in the North Yorkshire village of Great Langton.
At previous elections, the community, near Northallerton, has used a farm as the polling station.
But outbreaks of foot-and-mouth ruled out that option this year - so the local pub, the Wishing Well, stepped in.
However, hosts Robert and Elizabeth Boynton were not expecting to be swamped with new customers.
"There are only 194 people in this voting area and they are not all coming at once," said Mrs Boynton.
"But I expect a few will be taking a drink when they come to vote after work, and we have also got morris dancers here tonight.
