DEVELOPERS hoping to convert a former Richmond fashion house into homes will have to wait a little longer for a decision.
Councillors decided they wanted more information on where residents would park their cars before giving the project their blessing.
The former Frances Lee shop, in Pottergate, faces the main road to Darlington, with few off-street spaces available.
Richmondshire District Council was told on Monday that the county council highways department opposed the proposal because of parking problems.
However, district councillors decided not to reject the proposals at this stage, voting instead to allow the applicant, Randall Orchard Construction, more time to address the issue.
Frances Lee had a world-wide reputation, selling wedding dresses internationally, until the firm's collapse in 1997.
The property has been empty since, with little interest shown when it was marketed as a commercial premises.
Randall Orchard's proposals suggest internal conversion of the building into five two-bedroom flats.
