A PARISH council has won its fight to prevent homes being built outside its community development limits.
Langthorpe Parish Council, near Boroughbridge, strongly opposed plans for four homes on grazing land and a paddock behind Langthorpe Villa.
It highlighted possible access, parking and lighting problems.
Its view was upheld by the Knaresborough area planning committee of Harrogate Borough Council which turned down the outline scheme.
Planning officer Neville Watson had recommended refusal, saying the homes would be outside development limits in the district plan.
He said the homes would spoil the area's character and residents' amenities.
There were further objections from North Yorkshire County Council's highways department, which expressed concerns over access and visibility.
