THERE were no prizes for guessing how 102-year-old Edith Ainsley would vote as she turned up at the polling station clutching a red rose.
The pensioner, who is the oldest resident at Kiltondale Care Home, in Brotton, east Cleveland, was accompanied by her 77-year-old son Keith.
Mr Ainsley, who has two older brothers, Clifford, 81, and Peter, 79, and a younger one, Tony, 75, said his mother has never missed an election. "She's always been keen to vote," he said.
"Her two passions are politics and football, and Paul Gascoigne is her hero."
