Galileo today stormed to victory in the £1 million Vodafone Derby at Epsom.
The Queen and Queen Mum looked on in admiration as Michael Kinane rode the 9-4 joint favourite to triumph in a 12-horse field in the 222nd Derby.
Top trainer Aidan O'Brien, 31, completed a sensational Epsom Classic double after Imagine dashed home first in the Oaks.
The delighted Irishman told the BBC: "It's an unbelievable horse.
"It's great for everybody. It's great for the horse to start showing its full potential.
"It's unbelievably natural, this horse."
Jubilant Kinane said: "He's the best Derby horse I've ridden - he's got exceptional pace."
Galileo charged clear of leaders Mr Combustible and Perfect Sunday with three furlongs to go in a super-fast one mile four furlongs race.
The powerhouse horse swept to a magnificent victory three and a half lengths ahead of joint favourite Golan and Frankie Dettori's 9-1 outsider Tobougg.
