A factory has won an award for its promotion of health issues.
Local business leaders joined employees at Walkers Snack Foods factory, in Peterlee, east Durham, to celebrate their achievement in winning Working For Health accreditation.
Acknowledging that employee health does not stop at the factory gates, plant manager John Francis said his company was leading the way in policies which provided every member of the workforce with information and choice.
The company's initiative was applauded by Alan Cayhill, head of public services and housing at Easington District Council.
During the past week, employees have teamed up with health promotion specialists to discuss men's health, drugs and alcohol awareness, and sexual health.
