Danielle Hazell is making teams in The Readers Durham County League Under-13 Division sit up and take notice of her batting and bowling performances.
The 13-year old, who attends Deerness Comprehensive School, has played five matches for Esh Winning. She has batted on four occasions and scored 56 runs and in addition has claimed 11 wickets for 25 runs from 17 overs.
"I suppose I started playing because my dad plays for Bearpark. I started off with Plawsworth and joined Esh Winning which is just next to where I live in Waterhouses," said Danielle.
Already, she has turned out for Durham County Under-13 and Under-15 girls and according to Esh Winning coach Kenny March is destined for the top.
"Danielle is a very good player and I have no doubt that she will establish
herself in the game. She bats with good technique and has also proved herself with the ball. Bowlers are only allowed to bowl three overs in each game so to take 11 wickets in five matches is an excellent start," enthused March.
