HUNDREDS of classic car enthusiasts turned up at Beamish Museum to appreciate the best of British yesterday.
About 50 Morgan cars, all hand-made in this country, were on display at the County Durham museum in a rally organised by the Morgan Car Club.
Morgan owners attended from across the country to celebrate the car.
John Macdonald, of Macdonald Racing, Lanchester, County Durham, said the event was the biggest in its 20-year history.
Morgan was founded in 1909 by a Worcestershire rector's son, H F S Morgan, and is one of the most respected British motoring manufacturers. The latest model, the £50,000, 160mph Aero 8, was on display.
