DURHAM City's most famous hotel is in the process of expanding.
Work has begun on 11 new bedrooms at the Durham Marriott Royal County Hotel.
When the work is finished in the summer, it will take the number of bedrooms at the hotel to 150.
The £500,000 expansion follows work to rebfurbish 46 bedrooms and improve the lounge and reception areas
