A GALA princess has been named to spearhead a village's annual day of fun and games.
Eleven-year-old Megan Hall has been selected by her classmates for the role at Hurworth Grange's Annual Gala Day next Sunday.
Megan, a pupil at Hurworth Primary School, near Darlington, will be attended by Daniel Sutcliffe, ten, and Rebecca Brydon, 11.
Entertainment on the day will range from the normal fair events to the abnormal and from modern activities to those of days gone by.
Bungee jumping, falconry, jousting and Highland-style games are all on the menu, as well as trade stands, children's entertainers, steam trains, tug of war, refreshments and non-stop music.
Festivities start at 2pm, and there will be free parking
