CHURCH treasurer Ken Braithwaite is taking fundraising to new heights.
Later this month, he will step out for charity by walking across the 180ft transporter bridge, at Middlesbrough.
Mr Braithwaite will be raising money for his church in Chopgate, as well as South Cleveland Hospital and a cancer charity.
He is treasurer of St Hilda's, which is not getting its usual income because of the foot-and-mouth crisis.
He is a member of Cleveland Rotary Club and plans to meet Middlesbrough Erimus president Mike Robin half-way along.
"It was my idea to do the walk after a bit of a challenge for the Erimus members," said Mr Braithwaite yesterday.
"I am a bit nervous, but I did walk across Sydney harbour bridge last year, and that was quite pleasant."
