COMPUTER access to disadvantaged parts of the region is given a boost today with the announcement of three cash awards to neighbourhood centres.
The New Opportunities Fund, a distributor of National Lottery cash, is handing out a total of £385,469 to the projects.
Twenty community centres in North Tyneside will benefit from a £229,672 award.
An award for £11,872 goes to East Durham and Houghall Community College's IT centre at Trimdon Grange Community Centre.
The third award goes towards the University of Teesside's plans for five online centres.
