Frank Lampard today joined Chelsea for £11 million.
The dynamic West Ham midfielder, 22, was unveiled at a Press conference at Stamford Bridge this afternoon.
The England ace is criss-crossing London to join the Blues hours after Glenn Roeder, 45, became the new Hammers boss.
Roeder told Sky Sports this morning: "Frank is talking to Chelsea and that is likely to go through later today or possibly tomorrow.
"It will be a great shame to lose Frank because he is a terrific player and I'm sure he will go on to play for England many times in the future, but we have to respect his decision."
The Lampard cash - with some of the £18m Rio Ferdinand money - will give Roeder an estimated £15m to fork out.
He said: "It means I have a decent amount of money at my disposal.
"Unfortunately other clubs I will be trying to buy from now have an idea of what I have to spend. So it makes it very important for me to invest the money wisely and improve the team.
"Hopefully we will have two or three players in by the start of the season."
