SCHOOLCHILDREN across North Yorkshire have been learning more about engineering and technology with the help of local companies.
Their teachers have been spending time with various firms to discover more about the engineering behind everyday lives.
Among other things, one ended up diving in the North Sea, one spent a day as a traffic constable and another even got up at 2am to work in a bakery.
What they learned was then passed back to the youngsters and followed up with site visits.
The youngsters have since done surveys, made sketches and created models - and yesterday the project work of 17 primary schools went on display at Thirsk racecourse.
Among those attending the exhibition were representatives of the company's involved and certificates were presented to all the participants.
