THE publication of the British Horse Society's eighth edition of Bed and Breakfast for Horses has been postponed until September because of the foot-and-mouth crisis.
This means there is still time to apply for an entry. If you can offer overnight accommodation for horses in a field or a stable then the BHS would like to hear from you.
Accommodation for accompanying humans is also sought, but is not essential if there is a pub nearby.
Horse owners are often prepared to sleep in a tent in the corner of a field if they are satisfied that their four-legged friends are comfortable.
As well as including details of available facilities, advertisers are given up to 80 words to describe their location and amenities.
BHS chief executive Kay Driver said: "People are waking up to the economic advantages of equestrian tourism."
The new closing date for entries is now July 31. For more information and an application form contact Sue Brown, access and rights of way, British Horse Society, Stoneleigh Deer Park, Kenilworth, Warwickshire CV8 2XZ. Telephone 01926 707814.
