Hunters Estate Agent York and District Senior League - Whitkirk's Tom Glover celebrated his 18th birthday by hitting a match winning 34 not out after his side had slumped to 70-6 when chasing Acomb's 122 all out.
Glover had also taken three wickets before he joined Robert Horner (40no) to steer Whitkirk to their second win of the season.
Reigning champions Easingwold are now getting into their stride and recorded their first win of the season at Osbaldwick where Jonathan Marwood took his run tally to 366 when he made 56 before Martin Piercy 39no and Paul Skilbeck 38no clinched a seven run victory which enabled their side to leapfrog above their beaten opponents.
Guy Wilkinson hit an unbeaten 77 in a valiant effort to stave off a Heworth defeat by Clifton Alliance. Richard Musgrave made 59 in Clifton's 165-9 then captured three for 35. John Hunter's 4-33 contributed to a Heworth slump which saw them lose nine wickets for 88. Wilkinson then found a supportive ally in last man Trevor Walton and the pair were able to add 47 for the last wicket before Walton was dismissed. He had made just one run before the partnership was ended a mere three runs short of equalling the record for the last wicket. Clifton winning with 17 balls to spare.
Joe Grant (4-26) and Collis King (3-29) reduced Thirsk to 31-5 at Dunnington before Neil Stephenson (39) helped lift the score to 116-9. Chris Burgess then made 49 as Dunnington won by four wickets. Russ Bilton took five for eight in seven overs, then Jonathan Bean made 60no as Woodhouse Grange beat bottom side Ripon by nine wickets.
Beverley Town increased their lead in division one after Barry Sayer with 6-53 and Shaun Lightowler (4-32) set up a six wicket victory at Sessay. Second placed York lost ground when they were held to a draw by third placed Crayke. David Catlow made 81 for York. Carlton Towers batsman Stuart Coleman was in devastating form at Dringhouses where he hit eight sixes as he raced to an unbeaten 101 off only 59 balls. Mark Fenton responded with 86 not out as Dringhouses reached 203-9 in a strong challenge to Carlton's 221-5.
Stillington's Mohammed Hafeez hit his second century when he made 112 in his side's win over Wilberfoss while Bridlington's Pakistani overseas player Ehtesham Younis, who only arrived in Britain on the previous day, celebrated his debut with five for 50 to help Bridlington beat high flying Tadcaster Magnet by nine wickets.
Hovingham's Richie Brown made 39 then took eight for 26 in 17 overs as Selby were bowled out for 68 to lose by 30 runs in a low scoring game. Having lost all their previous seven games there was cause for some celebration by Civil Service who gained the better of an extremely close fought draw at Castleford when the home side closed just two runs short of their opponents total. Mick Bradley was the hero for Service taking five for 56.
The Readers Durham County League Under-15s
Carl McGregor turned in a man-of-the-match performance leading Etherley to a 52-runs victory over Brandon. When Etherley batted first, McGregor hit one six and six boundaries in 51 and although Scott Wallace claimed three wickets for 25 runs in five overs, the visitors ended with a creditable 95-5. McGregor then took three wickets conceding just one run as Brandon were bowled out for 43.
David Atkinson hit an undefeated 37 in the Bishop Auckland total of 71-5 with Stock capturing 3-15 from five overs for Willington who won with nearly 10 overs remaining. Only four wickets went down as Chris Moore dominated Willington's reply scoring 48. After restricting Ash Winning to 57-2, Langley Park won by seven wickets as Daniel Wilkinson and Andrew Smith both scored 22 and Ushaw Moor had seven wickets in hand of Mainsforth.
Craig Usher was Ushaw Moor's matchwinner with the bat, ending unbeaten on 54 out of a total of 86-3. In the Mainsforth innings Patterson was 40 not out in his side's total of 85-5 and for the home team Andrew Rafferty returned 2-12 and Mark Dawson 2-19.
Foster's Northumberland and Tyneside Senior League Under-18s
Michael Cairns was again the top performer when Greenside had nine wickets to spare at home to Ryton. The youngster took two wickets for just 14 runs in five overs and Gavin Jones had figures of 3-20, also in a five-overs spell as Ryton were restricted to 70-6 which included 29 by Hal Convery.
Cairns then went to work with the bat maintaining his excellent form by carrying his bat for 42 out of a total of 71-1. Chris Soulsby performed well with both bat and ball in Chopwell's eight-wickets win at home to Shotley Bridge. He sent down five overs claiming two wickets for seven runs and Paul Johnson captured 2-19 as Shotley Bridge totalled 66-6 in 20 overs. Crinnion was top scorer with 23. Soulsby then top-scored with 23 out of a total of 69-2 achieved in only 14.2 overs.
Stuart Atkinson hit an unbeaten 53 and Mark Stoneman carried his bat for 33 in Burnopfield's 31-runs victory in the local derby at home to Lintz. The home side reached 109 for the loss of just one wicket and responding, Lintz made 78-8 which included 44 by KevinJohnson. Atkinson, with three wickets for only seven runs, Lee Stoneman (2-16) and Lawrence Davey (2-20) were all among the wickets for Burnopfield.
Boddingtons Durham Coast League Under-15s
Jamie Greenwood again struck top form when Dawdon met Peterlee and scored 113 for the loss of just four wickets as the youngster recorded seven boundaries carrying his bat for 57.
When Peterlee replied, they ended on 74-7 as Greenwood took two wickets for seven runs, Mark Raffiee captured two wickets for 17 runs and Stephen Gale returned 2-7.
Gary Jones had the excellent figures of three wickets for two runs and Chris White also bowled well in capturing 3-7 when Houghton reduced Murton to 48-9 before going on to win by six wickets.
Brown (29) was the leading scorer in the Castle Eden innings which produced a total of 59-3 as McVay took 2-13. Bill Quay won comfortably when they did not concede a wicket with Hussain carrying his bat for 27.
South Hetton made the biggest score of the night, 131-1 at home to Easington when Karl Gippert hit an excellent 62 and Carl Bradbury finished unbeaten with 46. When Easington replied, they totalled just 47-6 as Bradbury claimed two wickets for five runs and Paul Davison had the excellent analysis of 3-11.
Karl Bellergby again bowled in Boldon CA's nine-wickets victory at Seaham Park where he took three wickets for only 16 runs as the home side compiled 57 for the loss of eight wickets. Bellerby then finished unbeaten on 26 which together with 27 not out by Burridge swept Boldon CA to victory.
