CYCLING fans are being urged to get on their bikes for a fund- raising event.
The Cleveland and Middlesbrough branch of the Leukaemia Research Fund is joining with Redcar Town Centre Management for a Seaside Pedal Special on Sunday, July 22.
Anyone who can ride a bike, regardless of their age, is welcome to participate, and cyclists are asked to obtain sponsors to support the Leukaemia Fund. The event, running in conjunction with a National Bikeathon, starts at the Majuba Road car park, Redcar, at 11am.
From there it takes two alternative routes. The main one, for adults, is about ten miles to and from Markse. Route two is a toddlers' challenge. Entrance is £3 for adults and £2 for children.
Michelle Lineker, wife of ex-footballer Gary and a National Bikeathon patron, said: "Bring the children, aunties, uncles and grandparents - the more the merrier. Bikeathon is a great way to raise money for a worthy charity. The Leukaemia Research Fund depends on people like you to carry out its vital research."
To obtain entry forms contact the Town Centre Management on (01642) 472485.
