DERBY Day and the big listed Vodaphone Dash saw owner David Brotherton take the sprint race for the third time in four years.
His colours were carried on Bishops Court, which he bred himself, for the second time as the winner had taken the same race in 1998.
Lynda Ramsden again handles the speedy Brotherton winner, which has returned to her Sandhutton yard since she came back from France and retirement. Stable jockey Robert Winston swooped with a perfectly-timed run.
Yorkshireman Mr Brotherton also won this with Astonished and both these may now run at Royal Ascot.
Little Amin landed spoils on Oaks Day, as we suggested Karl Burke's runner might.
It was the trainer's third win in this eight-plus furlong race, having taken it twice while at Newmarket with Philstar.
Mark Johnston's Double Honour has also booked a possible Royal Ascot run among the Middleham trainer's strong team there, following his emphatic win at Haydock under Joe Fanning.
Tim Easterby is in tremendous form and a Beverley treble added to three other wins this week.
Young jockey Paul Hanagan rode some of them and was seen to advantage for other trainers too, including Easterby's brother-in-law Richard Fahey and John Quinn.
Ripon's Sunday meeting was sun-drenched, if cool, after the morning's dodgy start and a good crowd enjoyed some fine racing.
David Barron surprised by sending out a debut winner from Maunby in the shape of Lone Chief and those who had been watching David Barker's recent form will have backed the Scorton handler's Tiyoun.
Champion jockey Kevin Darley, if you can book him, is a good choice and he provided winners this week for Mark Johnston, Mary Reveley (twice) and Steve Kettlewell.
