HELP for mothers whose children have been sexually abused will be offered by a new support group starting up in the Wear Valley area.
A successful Jigsaw 2000 group already operates in Darlington. The new project will operate along similar lines.
Trained volunteers will be available by telephone five days a week, and in person on Fridays, from 11am to 1pm, at Clairmont House, Princes Street, Bishop Auckland.
John Elliott, community development officer for Durham County Council's social services department in the Wear Valley, said: "People who need help can speak to volunteers who know what they are going through. They are there to understand their problems."
The telephone line is open from 9am to 5pm. Contact Anne on 07855 115785
