TWO villages have teamed up to take the first steps towards a brighter future - funded by grants from Europe.
Catterick and Tunstall qualify for aid from Brussels under the EU's Objective Two programme, which pumps money into under-privileged areas in need of regeneration.
The villages formed a Local Development and Employment Pact to thrash out a list of sustainable projects.
On the list so far are community transport, provision for early years education, leisure and sports facilities and community safety.
