TWO men killed in a car crash have been named by police.
James Weastell, 28, of Eaglescliffe, Teesside, and 22-year-old Craig McLean, from Middleton St George, near Darlington, died in the crash on Durham Lane, Eaglescliffe, at 8.50pm on Friday.
The two men were travelling in a Peugeot 309, driven by Mr McLean, when it was involved in a collision with a Fiat Punto.
Police believe that Mr McLean may have lost control of the Peugeot and hit the Fiat which was travelling in the opposite direction.
A father and son, who were in the Fiat were freed from the wreckage of their car by firefighters and treated for minor injuries at the University Hospital of North Tees and .
