A SOFTWARE company is celebrating after winning a £300,000 order from a leading chilled food manufacturer.
JBA Enterprise Solutions, based in the Mountjoy Centre in Durham City, will install a sophisticated enterprise resource planning system for International Cuisine at Consett.
The firm is the country's largest maker of branded chilled foods.
International Cuisine managing director Bill Connolly said: "As a world class company specialising in ready-made meals, it was essential that we installed a new system that enabled us to react to the market in the shortest possible time.
"All chilled food products have a short shelf life and buying more time is a critical factor towards maintaining our competitive edge.
"The new system is conducive to our strategy for further growth and will enable us to pursue extended collaborative relationships with customers, suppliers and partners.''
The new system, due to go live later this year, will enable the company to reduce lead times, keep a close eye on demand and streamline production.
JBA Enterprise Solutions' managing director Peter McLane said: "To be truly efficient in today's market, any company must be able to plan production and resources across their entire operation, making good use of the Internet.
"The installation of the new system will enable International Cuisine to implement an effective supply chain from the most basic raw materials through to the delivery of the finished product to their customer."
