AN old mining tradition is to be the centrepiece of an art exhibition featuring North-East talents next month.
Artists from the area will be contributing to the exhibition at the Discovery Centre, Market Place, Bishop Auckland, from July 2 to July 21.
The popular Durham Miners' Gala is to be celebrated in style at the event, to mark the tradition of one of the most important dates on the city's calendar.
Organisers are hoping it will be as popular as the current exhibition at the centre by Jack Drum Arts.
Hundreds of people have already flocked to see the exhibition, which is due to end on Saturday.
