PEOPLE throughout the region are being invited to a free open air concert in a North-East town next month.
Darlington Borough Council has joined forces with Northern Sinfonia to organise a concert in the town's Market Square on Friday, July 6.
Introduced and narrated by Paul Harman, Cleveland Theatre Company's artistic director, it will start at 6.30pm with a performance featuring local musicians.
The Northern Sinfonia orchestra then returns for the second half of the evening under the baton of Baldut Bronniman and guest soloists mezzo soprano Zoe Todd and guitarist Carillo-Garcia, featuring work by Bizet, Rodrigo and Dukas.
The concert closes with a tribute to the music of John Williams, whose film scores include Jurassic Park and Star Wars.
People are encouraged to bring chairs and picnics, and free parking will be available in the Town Hall car park.
Local musicians who would like to take part are asked to contact Bonnie Davies or Kari Vickers on (01325) 483271.
