PLANS have been unveiled for a £35m development on Newcastle's Quayside.
The scheme, which will transform the Broad Chare area, will include office space and housing, and could create up to 2,000 jobs.
Silverlink Property Developments was appointed to develop the site by Newcastle City Council in April and the scheme has been designed by Newcastle architects Waring+Nett architects.
Architect Richard Elphick said: "There are many buildings of historic interest in the Broad Chare area, some of which are part of a conservation area, and we were determined to ensure that our design would enhance, not detract from these."
The development will centre around a public space, which will provide an area for culture and entertainment.
It will include 120,000sq ft of high-tech office space.
The Manor Chare corner of the site will be given over to a residential development of 45 luxury apartments, with secure underground parking, private courtyards and balconies.
