KIRKLEATHAM Museum is putting its foot down and moving into the fast lane with a tribute to land speed kings.
Famous names such as Sir Malcolm Campbell and local motorcyling hero Freddie Dixon from Stockton are featured in a display which runs until Sunday, July 22.
Sir Malcolm Campbell set an unofficial land speed record at Saltburn before going on to set world records at other locations.
He was the father of record-breaking Donald Campbell, whose remains were recently discovered in Coniston Water in the Lake District.
The exhibition is based on the recently published book, A Dash Between the Tides: Sand Racing at Saltburn and Redcar, 1905-1965.
As well as period photographs supported by information and souvenirs, there is also a small display of motoring memorabilia from private collections
