A YOUNG cricketer bowled over the competition in his first senior match by taking five wickets for just three runs.
James Tilly, 14, was playing for Wolviston in a match against Marton senior team when he achieved his unexpected feat.
His own team were as surprised as the opposition when James achieved his success, as he had previously only competed in the club's junior team against other youngsters.
Youth team coach Terry Roland said: "It was exceptionally good, especially with it being James' first time at bowling in a senior match.
"We have got a lot of good young players in the club and it was great to see one of those youngsters doing so well."
James, a pupil at Red House School, Norton, near Stockton, is also a good batsman and hopes to score a few runs this season as well as taking more wickets.
