Hambleton Ales Combination - Initial discussions on the prospect of a possible re-start to the Hambleton Ales Combination in September will take place at the annual meeting to be held at the Northallerton Town FC clubhouse on Sunday (6.30pm).

The league has lost one first division club with the resignation of Masham.

All other existing clubs who played last season have indicated they will again be competing and one application for admission to the league has been received from West Tanfield FC.

League secretary David Watson reminds all clubs that they should be represented at the meeting and any new clubs wishing to join the Combination should contact him on (01609) 783818 as soon as possible.

Over-40s League

After finishing third in the Premier League, Billingham Wanderers held their Player of the Year evening. Harry Davies received the Player of the Year award in his fourth season in the league.

He was an ever-present and team captain, scoring three goals.

Keith Aldridge took the Players' Player of the Year in the first season in the Premier League. He was the division's leading scorer with 25 goals in 28 games. He also managed five goals against Blackhall Hardwick including a hat-trick inside six minutes, for which he also received a trophy from the League management.
