A MAN has been arrested and quizzed by detectives investigating the abduction of a five-year-old girl.
The youngster was approached by a man as she played in the street near her home and carried to a nearby alleyway.
She was taken to a garage to the rear of Trafalgar Street, in the South Bank area of York, but detectives say she suffered no physical injuries.
The man spent some time in the garage with the girl before leaving her there at about 5.30pm on Tuesday.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said the suspect was young, 5ft 7in tall, of average build and with short, dark hair. A man has been arrested and released on police bail.
