Former Crook Town AFC player Charlie Morrison led his four-man team to victory in the Crook Town AFC Golf Day held at Crook Golf Club on Friday, June 15.
Nineteen teams competed and the winning team of Charlie Morrison, Clark Morrison, Martin Ellis and David Taylor received prizes to the value of £400. Other prize winners were N Tuckal, D Race, N Appleby, M Tyres. Nearest to the pin T Hood, D Neil, N Appleby, J Hunter. The longest drive went to I Moralee and the highest points scorer on the day was Neil Harker with 39 points.
Mr Tom Chopra chief executive of Crook Town AFC said: "We're very grateful to Crook Town Golf Club for their wonderful hospitality, the course was in good nick and I'd like thank each and every player for taking part in what was really poor weather. We exceeded our target of teams for the day."
He also thanked The Northern Echo for putting the function in the paper and added: "With support like this we can get Crook Town Football Club on the right track again."
All players were treated to a three-course meal and entertainment by Alan Knights.
Crook Golf Club captain Mr M Quarmby said: "We hope this will become an annual event and we'll support Crook Football Club in any way we can.
