Durham Ranking Tournament - The sixth monthly tournament was held at Durham Snooker Club with identical results to the first one held back in January.
For the first time two players got their names on the winners list when Michael Rhodes won the main event and Kevin Allison won the Plate, as they had done back in January.
In the main event, Darren Grainger of Chester-le-Street beat Wayne Watson of Bearpark 4-1 in the semi-final, while Rhodes of Durham beat Chris Bowran of Bishop Auckland 4-2 in their semi-final. This gave Watson and Bowran £15 each as beaten semi finalists.
In the Final Rhodes came through to win £70 by beating Grainger 4-1, wit the beaten finalists taking £35 as his prize.
In the Plate Final, Allison of Esh Winning beat Leigh Mavin of Durham 3-1 to take the £10 prize.
All the competing players were able to score both ranking and merit points, which they carry forward to the Final Ranking Event in December, where the prize money will be vastly greater than the monthly events. The Final event will be seeded down to 32 on the strength of points scored through the monthly events
