YOUNGSTERS at a nursery took to the streets yesterday for the culmination of two months of learning about festivals and carnivals.
The children of Ferndene Nursery, in Elton Parade, Darlington, have been making masks and dragon boats, learning songs and having their faces painted.
Yesterday, they held their own carnival, parading around the streets and dancing in the nursery garden.
As part of their studies into carnival cultures, the older children also looked at Caribbean food and cookery
