A FAMILY fun-run will launch a day of fundraising entertainment over the August bank holiday.
Fairground rides and a falconry display will add to the entertainment at Jubilee Fields, Shildon, on August 26.
Runners, who can wear fancy dress, will set off from the town's Stadium 2000 at 10am. The first junior male and female to cross the finishing line will win a mountain bike each.
Prizes for the adults are wristwatches, and each runner will receive a printed scroll and medal.
The route, which is under three miles, will finish at Jubilee Fields, where a host of entertainment and stalls will add to the fun of the day.
Proceeds from the event go to the Butterwick Hospice at Bishop Auckland. Entry fees for the run are £3.50 for adults and £2.50 for children.
For entry forms contact the hospice on (01388) 603003.
