THE Environment Agency has appointed a new manager for the North-East.
Graeme Warren has taken over from Richard Cresswell, who left the role last year.
Mr Warren, 39, said: "I do know the area well, having visited frequently on outward-bound holidays.
"I am relishing the challenge that my new role in Northumbria will bring, and I have been impressed by the commitment and dedication of the agency staff I have met.
"I intend to build on these high standards while, at the same time, striving to deliver a better environment for the people of Northumbria."
