STEEL CITY: Forget spending thousands of pounds on posh holidays with isolated beaches and hot sunshine - the ultimate honeymoon destination is a lot closer to home. More than 400 couples have booked to spend the most romantic night of their life in Sheffield. The newly-weds have shelled out £75 a night to stay on a narrowboat called Ruby, which is run by chef Terry Hall. The romantic boat ride has proved so popular, he is preparing to launch a sister love boat to take the strain off Ruby.

It may not be a Caribbean cruise, but Terry's love boat has all the essential elements for romance. Rather than trying to keep up with the Jones by booking the most lavish break around, more honeymooners should remember what it is really all about - being together and having some time alone.

GOSSIP GALORE: Settling down for a good old chat is still all the vogue, despite the hundreds of e-mails and text messages we receive every day. A new survey has revealed that only one in 20 Internet users actually prefer e-mailing to face-to-face chats. It seems most of us are turning our backs on the overtly technical age and resorting to speaking to our colleagues and loved ones, in person. The trend for more human communication is being put down to a hi-tech overload - with many people facing literally hundreds of e-mails daily.

Surprisingly, most Internet users spend less than five hours a week surfing the net and the average number of sites visited each week is a mere 12. But, there are still some sad people who would rather talk in a chat room than in a friend's front room. However, it's reassuring to know the majority of people have realised that nothing can beat a good old gossip over a cup of tea

I'M MAD ME: Tomb Raider star Angelina Jolie is not your normal sexy American actress. Yes, she's got a great figure and a fantastic face but, away from the big screen, things are a bit strange in Jolie's world. When she married her first husband, she allegedly wrote his name on her chest in blood and it is claimed she now wears a necklace containing a drop of her new husband's blood. The 25-year-old star, who is married to Billy Bob Thornton, a man twice her age, also has a tattoo of his name on her biceps. And in a bid to shock even more, she claims she is obsessed by sex and flew 22 hours across the Atlantic while Tomb Raider was been filmed just to grab one hour in bed with her husband.

There's nothing wrong with standing out from the crowd and living an unusual life, but Jolie seems more intent on getting publicity than wanting the freedom to speak her mind. She comes across as a spoilt child desperate to shock by being as outrageous as she dares. Only someone who likes the gasps of disapproval would publicise their bizarre private rituals as much as Angelina.

FAIR PLAY: With preparations for Wimbledon well under way, let's hope this is the last time that corporate bosses with no interest in tennis are given seats, while true fans are turned away. The best day in the Wimbledon fortnight is when they open the doors to those people who queue for days for the chance to glimpse some top class tennis. For the rest of the championships, a lot of the seats are taken up by people with more interest in getting drunk and talking business, than watching the courts. In the recent Stella Artois Championships, the giggling antics of rude corporate guests got so bad that they had to be asked to quieten down. In one embarrassing match between Tim Henman and Italy's Christiano Caratti, one woman spent the whole match with her back to the court laughing with her friends. Another spectator, who mistook the Italian for female player Capriatti, shouted as match-point was about to be played. People who just want to be seen at these events should arrange to meet in the drinks tent - leaving their seats free for real fans
