COUNCILLORS have rejected plans for a private nursing home near a busy Durham shopping area.
Horizon Care Homes wanted to build the 44-bed home on land behind Front Street, Framwellgate Moor, Durham.
Durham City Council's development control committee turned down the application, because residents would not have pleasant and peaceful views to look at.
They were also concerned that the development would be out of scale and character with the area.
