DAREDEVILS experienced the ultimate adrenalin rush when they threw themselves off a platform 90ft in the air to raise money for charity.
In a drive to raise money for the National Kidney Research Fund, volunteers took part in a scad dive at Hartlepool.
A crane took participants 150ft into the air to a cage. The diver was then suspended below the cage before throwing themselves 90ft down to the suspended catch air device (scad).
To ensure a safe landing position, the divers wore a controlled free fall harness.
The design of the scad net gently breaks the fall of the diver to the extent that the participant feels no impact at all.
A spokesman from the charity said: "We would like to say a big thank you to all those who took part in what was possibly the experience of a lifetime."
