MULTI-millionaire rock star Brian Johnson is giving up the glitz to play pub gigs in front of a handful of punters.
His band, AC/DC, have filled stadiums across the globe for the past 20 years, but singer Brian, 53, is to come home to Tyneside to reform his first band, Geordie, which he started in the 1970s with three mates.
They will play the pubs and clubs they first toured as they struggled to make their name in the rock world.
Guitarist David Robson, now 47, said: "We have always kept in touch with Brian and when we met up in a restaurant two years ago he said he would love to get the band back together.
"Brian really loved the band. When he left to go to AC/DC he had tears in his eyes.
"He will arrive here in September. We will spend three weeks rehearsing and then go out on the road in October."
