BUSINESS lawyers Eversheds has completed Public Private Partnership (PPP) deals in the region worth £350m in the past seven weeks.
The deals range from the largest local authority PPP in the North-East to date, a £200m deal to provide Middlesbrough Council with white collar business support services, to a £6m one to provide Derwentside College with a new campus on the site of the former Consett steelworks.
Colin Crossman, head of public sector at Eversheds' Newcastle office, said: "The Government made it clear in the Queen's Speech that it intends to continue to involve the private sector in the provision of public services.
"They plan to focus on education, health and transport, and their manifesto had a £400m reward fund for councils who sign up to the Government's improvement agenda."
Eversheds has also been involved in property development schemes, such as the redevelopment of Redcar town centre.
