A 37-YEAR-OLD woman was indecently assaulted on a train during rush hour.
The woman was travelling on the airport train on the Newcastle Metro between Felling and Gateshead when she was attacked at about 8.20am on Tuesday.
The carriage was full but police said no one had intervened on her behalf.
After she was assaulted, the woman moved away and the stocky attacker moved to the front carriage. He later returned to the rear of the carriage, before getting off at Haymarket station, in Newcastle.
The attacker was described 40, 5ft 5in, stocky, with very short brown hair, and wearing beige combat trousers and a yellow T-shirt.
Police are appealing for witnesses to contact Gateshead East Crime and Disorder Unit, on 0191-454 7555.
