Tow Law maintained their unbeaten record but they were taken to the decider when they visited Crowtrees.

The first match between John Hall of Crowtrees and Charlie Donaghy started slowly with neither player taking early opportunities. However Donaghy steadily built up a lead and killed the game with a 35 break to end up as the seventy-nine points winner.

In the second frame Heppell Hodgson of Tow Law took a long time to settle against Dickie Evans and found himself trailing by over sixty points. However he turned in a late finish with a 23 break to close the gap but Evans finished off with 17 to win by 42 points.

The decider saw Jim Phillipon of Crowtrees and Ken Robinson score steadily in the teens with Robinson just always having the slight edge and slowly opening up a gap. Phillipson never managed to close the gap and eventually went down by twenty-six points.

The next event will be the third ranking vent at Crowtrees on Thursday, July 5 at Crowtrees.
