A Darlington school has won more than £16,000 of National lottery cash to set up a holiday club for children.
Polam Hall Junior School will use the money from the New Opportunities Fund to buy play equipment and craft materials.
Called the Fun Zone, the club will provide places for up to 40 pupils aged from four to 12 years.
The lottery grant was applied for with the help of the Darlington Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership, based at Darlington Town Hall.
Headteacher Angela Foster said: "Polam Hall School is delighted to have received this grant, which will enable the school to provide full holiday care for its pupils.
"The Fun Zone will bring a lot of enjoyment to the children taking part, and will be a huge benefit particularly to our working parents.
