TOCKETT'S Mill, the 18th Century watermill at Guisborough, has joined a list of threatened historical buildings.
The regional At Risk register, published annually by English Heritage, contains 136 entries of Grade I and II buildings - those of national historical importance - in danger of destruction unless they receive urgent attention.
The list has grown by seven from last year. New entries include Tockett's Mill, the Phosphate Rock Silo at ICI, Billingham, Durham Prison Officers' Club and Tynemouth's Collingwood Monument.
English Heritage says that of those buildings designated at risk, about one in five have a solution already proposed or agreed.
Last year the organisation gave grants totalling more than £350,000 towards buildings at risk in the North-East.
Success stories in the region include the refurbishment of Saltburn Pier, which cost more than £1m.
A total of 12 properties have been taken off last year's list, including Middlesbrough's old Catholic cathedral, St Mary's, which was destroyed by fire.
