Tim Henman advanced to the fourth round after a hard earned victory over Dutchman Sjeng Schalken.
The British number one fell behind in the first set 7-5 but fought his way back, taking the next three sets 6-3 6-4 6-2 with relative ease. Greg Rusedski made his way into the fourth round with a straight sets victory over eighth seed Juan Carlos Ferrero of Spain.
Ferrero was left shellshocked as the the British number two stormed to a 6-1 6-4 6-4 win on Centre Court, setting up a fourth round match with Croat Goran Ivanisevic next week after the former Wimbledon finalist defeated US superkid Andy Roddick in four sets.
Ivanisevic will be joined in the next round by Pete Sampras, who disposed of Sargis Sargsian, 6-4 6-4 7-5 on court one.
The United States' Lilia Osterloh failed to get to grips with 1994 champion Conchita Martinez, losing in straight sets, 6-2 6-3.
Jennifer Capriati made her way into the fourth round with a win over Russia's Tatiana Panova, 6-4 6-4.
Seeded 32nd, Panova stunned her American opponent to lead the second set 4-1 but Capriati fought back magnificently to claim the next five games and her place in the next round.
British pair Barry Cowan and Jamie Delgado bowed out of the men's doubles against Australia's Paul Hanley and Andrew Kratzmann, 4-6 7-6(10) 6-0 7-6(3).
Martin Lee and Arvind Parmar also crashed out of the men's doubles, losing 7-6(4) 6-7(17) 6-2 6-4 to Australia's Michael Hill and Jeff Tarango of the USA.
