PEOPLE in Stanley town centre will be shaken, not stirred, by an annual fun day with an exciting new theme.
James Bond 007 look-a-like Nick Richmond will no doubt ooze danger and sex appeal as he declares the Stanley Annual Fun Day for The Cancer Research Campaign open.
An action-packed programme will include live entertainment, side-shows, stalls, games, roundabouts, a bouncy castle, face painting and much more.
Musical entertainment will be supplied by blues, rock and metal group Skinflint, Stanley School Choir, Stanley's latest boy band Unison, singer Teri Mac, dancers from Sam's School of Dancing and a martial arts demonstration.
Taking place this Saturday, from 10am to 4pm, the event will be held in Clifford Road, Stanley.
The fun day is the flagship event of the campaign's Stanley local committee and is supported each year by Derwentside District Council.
Asda in Stanley has entered into the spirit of the occasion by donating a football game with artificial grass, goal posts and footballs, as well as CDs and radios.
If anyone would like to help out on the day, they can contact organiser Bill Burgess on (01207) 281201.
Campaign community fundraiser Rebecca Laverick said: "Please come and give your support."
