NINE-YEAR-OLD Alice McCullagh from Saltburn Grange Farm, Saltburn, was in tremendous form at the North East Counties Show, Kirkleatham, where she won the novice working hunter pony championship.
She was riding Richard Roberts' eight-year-old bay gelding Little Storm, by Jerome Harforth's Welsh Section B stallion Vean Stormcock.
Alice delighted her parents, Clare and John, when she then went on to win the 133cm open working hunter pony, securing her ticket for the Royal International.
The partnership is also proving successful in the show jumping ring, where they qualified for the ten years and under Scope and Festival Championships at Grantham in September. More recently Alice added a 138cm Scope primary qualifier at Markfield Equestrian Centre.
Alice also gained a second International ticket after finishing second in the home produced, first ridden, on her five-year-old Starlyte Orinoco, by Gunthwaite Fleur de Lys out of Risinghoe Meadowsweet
