ALMOST 700 pupils have been learning how to stay safe at school, at home and at play, by taking part in a child safety event.
Pupils from nine Gateshead schools took part in accident intervention and prevention role-playing scenarios at the Stop and Think workshops, organised by Gateshead Borough Council.
The scenarios mimicked everyday real-life dangers children might encounter travelling to school, at play or around the home.
The workshops were based around activities that account for most childhood accidents, including swings and playground equipment, road safety, fire danger and water safety
