The Readers Durham County League Under-18s - Langley Park posted the formidable total of 175 for the loss of just two wickets in only 20 overs when they visited Newton Aycliffe who were all out for 57.

Chris Davis led the way for Langley Park, carrying his bat for 78 while Paul Caulfield maintained his excellent form making 46. Coates ended undefeated on 24.

Reynolds top-scored with 18 in the Newton Aycliffe response but the batsmen were well contained by Smith, whose three wickets cost just 14 runs, Coates (2-3) and Clark (2-6).

Tony McMahon and Chris Gill were both in form for Evenwood at Tudhoe. McMahon was 45 not out and Gill added 43 to the total of 139-3 which proved too big for Tudhoe who replied with 91-6 including 24 not out by Liam Blyth. Teesdale took three of the six wickets to fall for 16 runs.

After Esh Winning had made 106-5, Etherley won losing six wickets when Ashley Raine batted well for 47 and Chris Renshaw contributed 24.

Scott Hopson was the Brandon matchwinner with the bat scoring 35 of his team's total of 69-5 at home to Coundon for whom Petrie contributed no fewer than 41 of his team's total of 66-6. Scott Nattrass sent down four overs for Brandon in claiming three wickets for 15 runs.

Danny Hooper was in form with both bat and ball when Mainsforth defeated Bishop Auckland by 14 runs. His 38 was the top score in the Mainsforth innings which produced 75-5 and for Bishops, Brennan had the creditable figures of 3-10. Hooper then took two wickets for 11 runs and Andy Howells had 3-15 as

Bishops were restricted to 61-8.

Boddingtons Durham Coast League Under-18s

Craig Price and Anthony Gale were again in good form for Dawdon who won by 47 runs at neighbours Seaham Park. Price scored 37 and Gale 24 when a total of 115-5 was put on the scoreboard and replying, Seaham Park were all out for 68 as Price took five wickets for just 12 runs and Ewart returned figures of 3-11.

In the other local derby, Ryhope had the better of Silksworth by 54 runs.

Dowell (29) top-performed in the Ryhope innings which totalled 95-6 and for the home side, Dale Markham had three wickets for 13 runs in four overs.

Phil Middlemiss contributed 18 but Silksworth were all out for 41 as Evans (4-4), Dowell with 3-7 and Briggs (2-9) shared the wickets.

John Spellman finished unbeaten on 29 in Castle Eden's match-winning reply of 75-5 at Boldon CA who were dismissed for 73 with Glaister capturing four wickets for 18 runs in four overs.

Shaun Bradbury starred with both bat and ball for South Hetton against Murton.

In four overs, he collected three wickets for four runs and Murton were restricted to 73-9 including 25 not out by Howe.

Bradbury then struck three boundaries in an unbeaten 38 to assist his side to a narrow one-wicket victory. Hodgson was the best of the Murton bowlers with figures of 3-11 from four overs.

At Hylton, Bill Quay were sent crashing to 43 all out mainly by the bowling of Tony Holder who in 3.5 overs, returned the remarkable figures of seven wickets for nine runs. Paul Anderson (25) led Hylton to 90-8 with Taylor taking 3-13 in four overs for Bill Quay.

Federation Special Durham Senior League Under-15s

Ben Embleton turned in a man of the match performance for Burnmoor who won by nine wickets at Horden. When the home side took first innings, Embleton claimed three wickets for 25 runs and Ludlow had figures of 3-19 from five overs restricting their opponents to 76-9.

Gary Langlands hit one six and three fours in 30 and Wayne Birks contributed 20 before Embleton took over with the bat, finishing unbeaten with 33 in partnership with Robinson (25 not out).

Chester-le-Street romped to a 10-wicket win at Gateshead Fell when Morrison captured four wickets for just four runs restricting the home team to 44-9.

Philadelphia were all out for 70 and went down by five wickets to Boldon at Bunker Hill. Lee Robinson top-scored with 21 and for the visitors Stuart Lamb claimed 4-28 and Welsh took four wickets for a meagre six runs.

In response, Boldon won when Paul Randall scored 25 of his team's total of 74-5. Lamb added 21 and for Phili, Tony Price took 2-12 and Scott Logan 2-14.

Lee Atkinson scored more than half his team's total when Eppleton realised 78 at home to Whitburn. Atkinson scored 44 but could not prevent Eppleton losing by two wickets when Whitburn scored the winning run from the last ball of the match. Matthew Hooper captured three wickets for Eppleton.

Lee Bowmaker ended unbeaten on 38 when Sunderland totalled 74-4 at South Shields who won losing just one wicket as Paul Craig ended undefeated on 39.

Federation Special Durham Senior League Under-18s

Robbie Day was again in outstanding form for Philadelphia but failed to earn his side victory against Sunderland who overtook the target of 91 with two wickets left.

Day claimed five wickets for only 18 runs but Michael Grey (25 not out), Steve McOwat (22) and David Harrison (22) earned Sunderland victory after Kieron Hodson had taken four wickets for ten runs in the Phili innings which featured a top-scoring 26 by Scott Logan.

Gary Adey contributed 31 to the Hetton Lyons score of 103-6 and for Felling, Joe Brunskill claimed 3-19. Felling were restricted to 89-5 including 22 by Peter Vinton and for the Lyons, Riddle had the excellent figurs of 4-25.

Daniel Shurben (75) and Stephen Lee Merrington (74 not out) propelled Chester-le-Street to 175-1 at Ropery Lane were visitors Seaham Harbour made only 76-2 responding.

David Maughan (38) and John Wightman (25) led South Shields to 108-8 at Eppleton for whom Christopher Hunter took 3-30 and David Lowther 2-15. Despite Lowther scoring 33, Eppleton could manage only 83-7 as Wightman returned figurs of 4-14 and David Coulson captured two wickets for 21 runs.

Graham Arkle top-performed with an undefeated 44 and Philip Bell scored 25 when Gateshead Fell defeated Boldon by five wickets. Boldon's total of 78-7 included an innings of 25 by Chris Mackley.

Boddingtons Durham Coast League Under-15s

Kris Howe (35) and Kevin Mawhinney (26) were the principal scorers when Murton realised 95-8 at Marsden who made just 63-8 when they batted second. Martyn Quinn took 2-23 for Marsden and Greg Thompson (29) and Paul Stewart (24 not out) showed form with the bat while for Murton, Graham Hodgson captured two wickets for seven runs.

Peterlee hosted Bill Quay and lost by 17 runs. Matthew Biggs, with 13, was the best that they could produce when the innings struggled to 49-9 with Phillips taking 3-6 and South 2-4 in the Bill Quay attack.

When Bill Quay batted first and reached 66-5, Hussain contributed 21 and for Peterlee Andrew Laidler had figures of 2-13 and Richard Lawson returned 2-15.

Christopher Robson hit an excellent 56 enabling Silksworth to post 100-7 at home to Seaham Park for whom Sutherland captured three wickets for 13 runs in four overs. Jones, with 3-9 from 11 deliveries and Ross Johnson (2-13) were the bowlers who mainly sent Seaham Park back for only 87.

Jamie Greenwood (22 not out) and Gale (30 not out) led Dawdon to a 10-wicket victory at Hylton for whom Liam Watson scored 21 of his team's total of 63-8.

Greenwood was also in form with the ball, taking 3-6 from four overs and Stephenson had figures of 2-15 also from a four-overs spell.

Boldon CA won at Easington without conceding a wicket. In-form batsmen Karl Bellerby (30 not out) and Gary Frater, with an unbeaten 46, propelled their team to 84-0 after Easington had scored 79-9 including 31 by Mark Mitchell.

The Readers Durham County League Under-15s

Tony McMahon hit one six and eight boundaries in 57 leading Evenwood to 117-5 at Tudhoe who crashed to only 17 all out as Walding returned the magnificent figures of five wickets for five runs in as many overs.

Darren Patterson, with four boundaries in 32 played the leading role in the Mainsforth innings which yielded 66-5. Three of the wickets fell to Peat for 26 runs in five overs and Brandon went on to win, losing five wickets.

Alan Smith's 28 was the top contribution in the Langley Park innings of 111-7 compiled from 20 overs. Shildon were sent back with just 30 runs on the board as Wilkinson took four wickets for a meagre four runs in two overs.

Esh Winning had 16 runs to spare against Etherley after totalling 84-6 which included 33 not out from Jamie Simpson, who found the boundary on three occasions. Luke, with 2-18 and Lyle (2-20) both bowled five overs for Etherley.

When the visitors responded they were all out for just 68. Christopher Hurst had figures of 3-28 in five overs, Simpson also sent down five overs returning 2-10 and Jamie Presthead claimed three wickets for seven runs in 4.3 overs.
