A YOUNG man was so tormented by a skin disease he took his own life, an inquest heard yesterday.

Jason Sneddon, 25, of Linden Court, Spennymoor suffered from psoriasis for two years which caused him to become depressed, the inquest at Bishop Auckland heard.

He stopped mixing with his friends and left his job at the Black and Decker factory, telling his sister he was leaving because of his condition.

Weeks later, he was found unconscious at his home after taking a cocktail of anti-depressants and paracetamol. He never regained consciousness.

Darlington and South Durham Coroner Colin Penna came to the conclusion that Jason had taken his own life.
